The latest set photo from Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life will absolutely crush you.

The image features everyone's favorite Gilmore women at a cemetery, while holding bouqets of flowers. Lorelai (Lauren Graham), Rory (Alexis Bledel), and Emily (Kelly Bishop) are attending a funeral to pay tribute to Richard. It's fair to say we are all going to be choking back the tears during this emotional moment when we finally see it on screen.

In December of 2014, Edward Herrmann who portrayed Richard passed away. The cast of Gilmore Girls has been very outspoken about how much he is missed on the show. During a cast reunion at the ATX Television Festival in 2015, they left one of the panel chairs empty for their fallen family member, according to E! Online.

The show's creator, Amy Sherman-Palladino, stated at the Gilmore TCA panel this summer that the Netflix revival will pick up the story after Richard's death. In the four new episodes, the tragic passing will play a monumental role in crafting the storyline, especially for Kelly Bishop's character Emily.

"What does the death of a husband mean to a woman who had a life very specific to her all these years," Sherman-Palladino asked. "Where does she go from here?"

Hermann's death has still been difficult for the cast and crew, Lauren Graham stated to TVLine in an interview regarding the new episodes.

"There's a line [in the script] about how time has passed and how that feels...and hanging over all of it is the absence of Ed...which, obviously the [revival] addresses," Graham explained. "But that's where we're all starting from, and it feels so real. It's hard to be here without him."
