The Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award is awarded to a performer who has made a significant contribution to the music industry, and this year's recipient, Rihanna, certainly fits the bill.

The singer received the prestigious award at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards, but before she did so, she completed her fourth performance of the evening in spectacular fashion.

Rihanna began her final performance with an emotional rendition of her ballad "Stay" before transitioning into her hit, "Diamonds," before finishing up with her song "Love On The Brain."

Rihanna was then presented with the Video Vanguard Award by Drake, who was all dressed up in a tux to present Rihanna with her Moonman. The rapper spoke to the audience about Rihanna's talent and longevity in the music business, praising her character and the way she's handled herself throughout her career. The two shared a sweet moment as Drake handed Rihanna her award, telling her he's loved her since he was 22. They gave each other a quick kiss on the cheek before embracing.

The Barbadian-born singer accepted her trophy with thanks for her family, friends, country and fans, as well as Drake for his moving speech.

Congratulations, Rihanna!
