For the first time ever, "Black Swan" leading lady Natalie Portman will be heading to TV. The Academy Award winning actress has signed on to star and executive producer the miniseries currently in development at HBO called "We Are All Completely Beside Ourselves," according to EW.

35-year-old Portman will be taking on the role of Rosemary Cooke, a college student who had an unusual upbringing that included the unexpected disappearance of her "twin sister" at age 5.

The miniseries is being developed by "Friends" co-creator Marta Kauffman ("Grace and Frankie") through her production company Okay Goodnight. The new show is an adaptation of the Karen Joy Fowler novel of the same name. The script will be penned by Christopher Monger ("Temple Grandin") with "Homeland" and "Tyrant" co-creator Gideon Raff taking on the duties of executive producer alongside Portman, Kauffman, and Robbie Tomlin from Okay Goodnight. Hannah KS Canter of Okay Goodnight will also be attached to the project as a co-producer.

Okay Goodnight also has plans to develop an American version of the popular Israeli television show "Shtisel." The adaptation, under the title "Emmis," has already been sold to Amazon according to Deadline. "Emmis" is a family drama that offers a glimpse into the ultra-orthodox community.

Kauffman stated, "These two projects demonstrate the range I envision for Okay Goodnight, and I couldn't be happier to see them come to fruition."

Marta Kauffman will be receiving the 2016 Outstanding Television Writer award at the 23rd annual Austin Film Festival & Screenwriters Conference this fall.

Do you look forward to watching "We Are All Completely Beside Ourselves" starring Natalie Portman when it airs on HBO?
