After the recent news that the "Divergent" series will be ending with a television movie for the series finale, 29-year-old actor Miles Teller is unsure whether he will be participating in the next small screen installment.

"I've talked to nobody," Teller stated. "I found out 20 minutes before Variety printed it."

The studio behind the futuristic series, Lionsgate, originally planned on filming "Ascendant" during the summer of 2016. The fourth and final film of the series was slated to debut in June 2017, but in light of the box office failure of "Allegiant," the plans were scrapped for another less expensive option. The studio now has the hopes that the "Divergent" television finale will lead into a spinoff television show with new storylines and characters, according to Variety. The news was disappointing to Miles Teller, who took on the role of "Peter Hayes" in the previous three installments.

"When we all signed on for the first one we had every intention of finishing it theatrically," he explained. "We signed on for x amount of movies and you take that all into consideration. We wanted to see that storyline finish. You know, it's moving into a different format. So who knows?"

"We all really enjoyed that time we spent together and those characters," Teller added. Although he may be disappointed with the way the "Divergent" series is panning out, Teller seems to be thrilled with his upcoming film "War Dogs."

Based on a true story, Miles Teller and Jonah Hill ("Superbad") portray two stoners who stumble upon a lucrative government contract to supply weapons for the U.S. troops in Afghanistan. The film hits theaters on August 19, and is directed by Todd Phillips ("The Hangover").

Todd Phillips mentioned regarding his new film "War Dogs," "Hopefully it works...Not just for me, but for films like this to get made, so it's not all superhero, DC, and marvel movies. Everybody claims they want new things. They want new stories."

Miles Teller could certainly use some good news in the form of audiences loving his "War Dogs" movie after the recent disappointments regarding the "Divergent" series.

Would you like to see Miles Teller reprise his role in the "Divergent" series television movie?
