Netflix has recently been treating subscribers to reunion shows appealing to our nostalgia with series such as Fuller House and the Gilmore Girls. Now the world's largest streaming service has announced yet another series that is sure to bring back memories for fans all over the world of the popular show. Netflix has announced they will be reuniting the cast members for everyone's favorite teenage melodrama: Degrassi.

The show will be a one-off episode featuring the early cast members of the Next Generation era, according to Collider. The characters from the Next Generation era include: Craig (Jake Epstein), Paige (Lauren Collins), Emma (Miriam McDonald), Spinner (Shane Kippel), Marco (Adam Ruggiero), Liberty (Sarah Barrable-Tishauer), Ashley (Melissa McIntyre), or Ellie (Stacey Farber).

But most importantly, the question remains whether Drake will be reprising his role as fan favorite Jimmy Brooks a.k.a. Wheels? Drake portrayed the popular basketball star who was bound to a wheelchair after a school shooting in one of the show's more over-the-top incidents. While he probably will not appear in the episode, we can always hope.

The episode will air on July 22nd as a celebration of the series hitting its 500th episode. Netflix launched an announcement video, which was first posted to the Degrassi Facebook page. The video notably was missing Drake, but did include Jake Epstein, Lauren Collins, Sarah Barrable-Tishauer, Adam Ruggiero, Shane Kippel, and Miriam McDonald.

No word yet on whether JT will return for the dead, but we will have a chance to find out when the reunion episode airs this Friday, July 22.

Do you plan on checking out the reunion show on July 22? If so, who were your favorite cast members from the Next Generation cast of Degrassi that you are most looking forward to seeing?
