In honor of what would have been Robin Williams' 65th birthday, one of his most memorable films will coming back to the small screen. The comedic legend died nearly two years ago on August 11th, and would have turned 65 years old this year on July 21.
According to EW, "Sundance TV announced Wednesday it will broadcast 'Jumanji' on Monday at 9 p.m. ET to commemorate Williams' would-be 65th birthday on July 21."
The 1995 Joe Johnston film 'Jumanji' is an adaptation of Chris Van Allsburg's classic book. In the movie, Robin Williams portrays a man that was trapped inside of the jungle-themed board game for several decades, and is finally released back into the real world when a pair of siblings (Kirsten Dunst and Bradley Pierce) pick up where the game was abruptly left off. Williams must help the two siblings complete the board game while fending off horrors of the jungle brought forth such as quicksand pits, vicious big game hunters, raging tsunamis.
There's also a reboot for 'Jumanji' in the works being directed by Jake Kasdan. Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Jack Black will star in the upcoming project that is slated to hit theaters in July of 2017.
Other notable films starring the late Robin Williams include: 'Dead Poets Society,' Disney's 'Aladdin,' and 'Mrs. Doubtfire.'
