Clifford The Big Red Dog seems to have found a new home.

The adorable children's book star previously had a deal in place with Universal, but due to a creative change in direction the studio opted not to renew their option on the property (via Deadline). It seems though that the project has found new life at Paramount, though, as a script has been commissioned for the movie, which will be written by Justin Malen.

Clifford The Big Red Dog has continued to be a staple in both books and animation. He was created back in 1963 by writer Norman Bridwell, and since then the character, along with his owner Emily Elizabeth, spawned a PBS animated series. Their adventures start when Emilly receives Clifford for her birthday, and the normal sized pup then grows to over 25 feet tall.

The project will be a mix of live action and animation. As for Malen, his previous work includes the Owen Wilson and Ed Helms starring Bastards and The Rock and Zac Efron-starring Baywatch reboot, which he performed rewrites on.
