In the Game of Thrones season 6 finale, "The Winds of Winter," Cersei Lannister got revenge on just about everyone that she believed had wronged her. Sadly for her, the victory came at a great cost as her last-living child, Tommen, took his own life.

While most mothers would be heartbroken by the death of their child, Cersei has already buried two of her children and probably accepted by now that Maggy the Frog's bleak prophecy would come true.

"Yes, the prophecy finally comes true. Which is horrible. Yet at the same time, she has her greatest moment of triumph," Lena Headey told EW. "She gets rid of all her enemies, that she knows of anyway. Then there's that moment where she goes to see dead Tommen and she thinks, 'Ah. Well. I'll [take the crown].' It's so wrong."

The main part of Cersei's master plan was igniting the wildfire underneath the Sept. The explosion wipes out Margaery Tyrell, Loras Tyrell, the High Sparrow, most if not all of the Faith Militant, Lancel, Kevan Lannister and Mace Tyrell. What was Headey's reaction when she read the script?

"I was grinning [reading the script]," she admitted. "Everyone is going to be aghast and thrilled and annoyed they're on Cersei's side for a minute."

The destruction of the Sept was bad enough, but Cersei doesn't show just how truly vengeful she can be until we see her in the Red Keep dungeon with Unella, the Septa that tortured Cersei while she was kept in a cell underneath the Great Sept of Baelor and cried out "Shame!" while Cersei performed the walk of atonement. At that point, Cersei douses Unella in wine, happily confesses to numerous sins, and lets the Mountain have his way with her.

"It's so filthy. It's so great," Headey said. "Everybody's witnessed what happened with the two of them. I don't think people will be able to help going, 'Yes!' But it's so depraved, it's brilliant. The scene was meant to be worse, but they couldn't do it. This is like the tame version. It's pretty bad still though. I'd take being exploded in the Sept over that any day."

In the final moments, Cersei ends up on the Iron Throne. Headey was surprised by it, though she doesn't think Cersei's reign will last very long.

"I couldn't believe it, obviously. I was really shocked. I read it like nine times, like, 'You're joking!' Then I'm left to wonder who's going to take her down. She may only be there for a second. You do think, "What the f— comes next?" Then we start again to play that game we all play each season, 'Who's going to be on the Iron Throne next?'"
