Jeff Goldblum brings a certain pizzaz to any film he's a part of, and will be bringing that same aura to Independence Day: Resurgence later this year.

With him reprising the role of David Levinson in the sequel, it would stand to reason he could return as Ian Malcolm in the Jurassic Park franchise as well. When Fandango brought the possibility up to him, he modestly declined.

"Yes, in 20 years!" Goldblum joked. "Nah, I have no plans. They're doing very well without me."

When interviewer Erik Davis told him how much the franchise could use him, he thanked him profusely, saying: "Yes, yes, but what movie doesn't need a little seasoning of Goldblum? So few. The Danish Girl? No, not really. Not that one."

When the question came up asking if he would be open to the possibility, he left an open door, but if it doesn't happen he'll be fine.

"I'm nothing if not open. I'm like an open-faced sandwich. My door is not always open -- I took the door off. I removed the hinges from the door. I'm too open. I'm like a chicken piccata. What was I about to say? Oh yes, the two [Jurassic] movies I did with them were plenty. If I never did anything more, I'd certainly be well satisfied."

Independence Day: Resurgence opens in theatres on June 24th.
