Principal photography is well underway on Warner Brothers' Wonder Woman feature film and the latest set photos confirm that part of the film will be set during World War I.

Earlier today, Gal Gadot (Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice), Chris Pine (Star Trek Into Darkness) and Ewen Bremner (Exodus: Gods and Kings), along with 150 extras, were spotted filming scenes on the banks of the Thames in Southend, Essex. Everyone was dressed in clothing that's appropriate for that time period (1914 -1918).

"Gal donned a long, slate-grey coat, which was cinched in at the waist with a tan leather belt," described by The Daily Mail. "The styling consisted of brown lace-up boots and a wide-brimmed fedora hat, with a white shirt beneath."

"Chris was also spotted in full costume as the USAF pilot, wearing a brown leather aviator jacket and matching trousers," Daily Mail specified. "The rest of his costume consisted of beige knee-high socks, covering up in a khaki parka coat with fur lining."

The film stars Gal Gadot in the role of Diana Prince/Wonder Woman and Chris Pine as Captain Steve Trevor. It also stars Robin Wright, Danny Huston, David Thewlis, Ewen Bremner, Saïd Taghmaoui, Elena Anaya and Lucy Davis. Wonder Woman is being directed by Patt Jenkins (Monster, AMC's The Killing).

Wonder Woman feature film is set to open in 2017.
