Good Dinosaur, Pixar's latest, won the Thanksgiving box office for debuting films with $6.56 million on the holiday, narrowly beating Creed at $6.45 million. The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2, which opened last week, won the day overall with a $10.4 million day.

It's the fairly expected results for the family-oriented holiday, and that should be considered a huge win for Creed, gathering a solid opening of over $12 million in its first two days.

This is a bigger test for Good Dinosaur, as Disney's plan going forward is to have two Pixar movies on the calendar each year, with 2015 as the first (Inside Out premiered in June). An expected $60 million for the five-day opening release will be considered a victory - nowhere near sister company Walt Disney Animation Studios' record $93.6 million for Frozen - but a win nonetheless.

The only loser of the week seems to be Victor Frankenstein. Despite starring genre darlings Daniel Radcliffe and James McAvoy, the movie made only $470,000 on Thursday, projecting a 5-day total of around $4 million.
