AMBI Pictures have announced plans to remake Christopher Nolan's 2000 film Memento.

AMBI gained the rights to remake the picture after acquiring the Exclusive Media Group library, consisting of 400 titles, including Memento, Cruel Intentions, Donnie Darko, Rush, Sliding Doors, and others.

Memento was a thriller that messed with viewer's sense of time, telling two stories in opposing chronological order and having them meet at the climax. Guy Pearce starred as a man tracking down his wife's killer, but whose unique form of memory loss forced him to tattoo reminders to himself on his body.

The original Memento took in $25.5 million at the domestic box office, and has been a favorite of movie lovers for years.

"Memento is a masterpiece that leaves audiences guessing not just throughout the film, but long after as well, which is a testament to its daring approach," said AMBI's Monika Bacardi. "We intend to stay true to Christopher Nolan's vision and deliver a memorable movie that is every bit as edgy, iconic and award-worthy as the original. It's a big responsibility to deliver something that lives up to the mastery of the original, but we are extremely excited and motivated to bring this puzzle back to life and back into the minds of moviegoers."
