Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2: Zoe Saldana Confirms Benicio Del Toro Will Return As The Collector

The Collector will continue putting together his Noah's Ark in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.

In June, Benicio Del Toro said he wasn't sure if he was returning for the Guardians of the Galaxy sequel. He wanted to reprise the role so that he could continue to develop The Collector (Taneleer Tivan), showing another side to the alien that collects artifacts and organisms from across the Marvel Universe.

Now the question of whether or not Benicio would return has been answered by Zoe Saldana, who plays the green-skinned assassin Gamora in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Latino Review spotted a video in which she posted on her husband's Facebook page that has the actress complimenting Benicio on his latest film Sicario and ends with her saying (in Spanish) "I'll see you on Guardians!"

James Gunn (Slither, Super), director of 2014's Guardians of the Galaxy, will return to write and direct the sequel, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. It is scheduled to hit theaters on May 5, 2017.
