It may have took its sweet time staggering over the milestone, but in the end Terminator Genisys has finally surpassed the $400 million milestone at the global box office. Now go thank China, Paramount and Skydance Pictures. Thanks, China!

In eight days, the fifth installment in the Terminator franchise has grossed $82.8 million in China, nearly topping its entire domestic total of $89.4 million. This weekend it added $23.4 million from the Middle Kingdom, putting it in the top spot for the foreign box office. While the news is positive, people have to remember that only 25% of revenue from the Chinese box office goes back home.

Meanwhile, Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation continues to do well overseas. It added $15.3 million from China, pushing its global total to $470 million. Though the film will come up short to its predecessors total, as Brad Bird's Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol earned $694.7 million.

When John Connor (Jason Clarke), leader of the human resistance against Skynet, sends Kyle Reese back to 1984 to protect his mother, Sarah (Emilia Clarke), from a Terminator assassin, an unexpected turn of events creates an altered timeline. Instead of a scared waitress, Sarah is a skilled fighter and has a Terminator guardian (Arnold Schwarzenegger) by her side. Faced with unlikely allies and dangerous new enemies, Reese sets out on an unexpected new mission: reset the future.
