Terminator Genisys Video Anthology Goes Online From Arnold Schwarzenegger and YouTube Stars

Arnold Schwarzenegger had joined forces with some of the top talent on YouTube - including Machinima, Tobuscus, IISuperwomanII, and others - in a movie-inspired, episodic narrative titled Terminator Genisys: The YouTube Chronicles.

In the shorts, a new Terminator is sent from the future to the present day to hunt down and destroy a new threat – YouTube stars who will become important figures in the future human resistance. The YouTubers must band together to defeats a killer machine that looks like one of their own, and they'll need the help of a powerful friend.

You can see the three videos, released this morning, embedded below. The videos were shot at YouTube Space LA and directed by Charles Paek and Rob Gilbert.

Terminator Genisys is the first part of a standalone Terminator trilogy. In it, John Connor, leader of the resistance in the year 2029, continues the war against the machines. When he learns of a plot to send a Terminator back in time to kill his mother, he sends Kyle Reese to protect her, but the Sarah Connor that Kyle finds is different than what he expected.

Terminator Genisys stars franchise icon Arnold Schwarzenegger, as well as newcomers Emilia Clarke, Jai Courtney, Jason Clarke, Matt Smith, Byung-Hun Lee, and JK Simmons. The film is directed by Alan Taylor (Game of Thrones, Thor: The Dark World).

Terminator Genisys opens July 1, 2015.
